We analyzed the top vitamin C serums available and arrived at something even better. We increased the percentage of vitamin C,  we added vitamins B3 and B5, and we lowered the cost as compared to the most popular C serum on the market.

But first, why your skin needs vitamin C

The active form or vitamin C in skin care products is L-ascorbic acid.  It’s major role is in helping with collagen synthesis (one of the skin’s important building blocks that degrades with age) and as an antioxidant that protects the skin from ultraviolet damage.  This means the skin benefits from vitamin C by using it to make heathier skin and by using it to repair and protect against sun damage.

Studies have shown that topically applied L-ascorbic acid can effectively reduce both wrinkles and abnormal skin pigmentation.  

It’s also been shown that vitamin C levels are lower in older and sun-damaged skin.

Vitamin C is also an anti-inflammatory agent.  This means it can help with skin healing after injuries and reduce redness and pigment associated with inflammatory conditions.

What about Ferulic Acid?

Ferulic acid has anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties meaning it can help vitamin C with protection from sun damage and in improving the skin health.

Vitamins B &  E

Vitamin B3 (nicotinamide) aids in DNA repair and inflammation reduction.

Vitamin B5 (panthenol) improves the skin barrier function for moisture retention.

Vitamin E is an additional antioxidant.

The formulation

We selected a form of vitamin C that effectively crosses the skin barrier with topical application and is stable in solution.  All vitamin C serums experience some degree of oxidation with time. The opaque bottle protects the serum from UV degradation but with time some yellowing of the product will occur. The serum will still be effective.

Directions:

Apply 3 - 5 drops daily (AM) by pressing/blending the serum into cleansed skin with your fingertips.
